Standalone: initial version when installed database is on local computer and not
shared between others.

Single User: database is stored on a network drive and multiple computers point to
it to share data. Only one user at a time can access Impact.
If it is locked by another computer an error message will pop up
indicating which computer it is locked by.

Single User Network Setup Instructions

Multi-User: Database is on a server and multiple computers access the server to
access the data. Multiple computers can be running Impact at a time
but must be in different tournaments.
*Requires a SQL server installation to store the database

Moving SQL Servers from one computer to another

There are two options to get your database onto the new SQL server.
Option 1)
Go to one of your existing Impact client computers, and do a backup from within Impact.
You would then point your existing Impact installation and point it to use this new server.
It will create a new empty database.
At that point you can restore your Impact backup, and configure the rest of your client computers.

Option 2)
Here is a link for instructions on doing a sqlserver backup and restore.
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/3/folders/1p1gC6qH_X_fBcdvfDHlmzEsZPW-i2WIk
You could backup the existing sqlserver, and then restore it to the new SqlServer (once it has been
installed and configured on the new Windows Server).
Once that is complete, you would go to all the client computers and change the Impact installation
settings to point to the new SqlServer.

World Handicap System (WHS)

Impact has converted over to the new World Handicap System (WHS)

The way that a Course Handicap is calculated has changed with the WHS.
A player’s Course Handicap is calculated as:
(Handicap Index) x (Slope Rating of the tee played / 113) + (Course Rating – Par)
The resulting figure is rounded off to the nearest whole number (.5 or more is rounded upward).

Index – any number with a decimal is considered an index.
NOTE : For any index ending in .0 you must add a ‘ in front of the number (eg. ‘8.0)

Handicap-any whole number

Average Score – any whole number >60 is considered an average score.

You can enter any of the three options into the index column of the player upload and the information will be brought in when you upload the spreadsheet.

Day Handicaps

Day Handicap Methods

When you set up a net tournament you will be asked during the wizard what Day Handicap Type you would like to use.

We support five types:

Callaway
Based on each golfer’s gross score (using the double par maximum), each golfer tallies up a prescribed number of worst scores from their scorecard, then applies a second adjustment that may add or subtract additional strokes.

Utilizing the Callaway System requires consulting a chart to determine a handicap deduction and handicap adjustment.

Peoria
On the six holes, These are usually two par 3s, two par 4s and two par 5s, and often one of each type per nine (one par 3 on the front, the other on the back nine)Player A uses 30 strokes. 30×3=90. 90 minus par-72 is 18. Eighty percent of 18 is 14 (round off). Fourteen is the allowance. Player A’s gross score is 90; 90 minus 14 results in a Peoria System net score of 76.

Modified Peoria
On the six holes, These are usually two par 3s, two par 4s and two par 5s, and often one of each type per nine (one par 3 on the front, the other on the back nine) The over/under on those 6 holes (ex.-4) is taken and multiplied by 3 (ex.-12) if that number is over par it is subtracted from the player/teams gross score (eg 80-12=68net). If it is under par then it is added to the player/teams gross score. (eg.80+12=92net)

Scheid
